TRY THIS SELF LOVE LASSE WHEN STRAPPED FOR TIME IN THE MORNING

Pineapple Self Love Lasse

Ingredients

  • 1 quarter ripe fresh pineapple or half a tin of pineapple in natural juice
  • half a tub of natural creamy yogurt

Method
Peel and quarter the fresh pineapple or open the tinned pineapple and remove half of the segments with a little juice.  Store the rest in an airtight container and place in the fridge for later use.

Pour the yogurt in a blender, add the pineapple with a little juice from the tin and blend. Drink and enjoy.

The sweetness of the ripe pineapple means that no sugar or honey is needed.  The juice from the pineapple or tin reduces the yogurt's thickness and create an easy to pour drink.

Hi there Self Lovers,

Welcome to Self Love's February 2012 newsletter.

As we experience snow at the beginning of February, I am reminded of the ability to be open to the unexpected. We're so used to seeing this type of weather in December or January and actually for many of us (especially the self employed) we were lucky that it happened at the weekend. Often we become inflexible to unforeseen change and therefore become resistent to adapting when sudden change occurs.

How do you deal with change - sudden or otherwise?

Consider what happens when you resist change and how you feel...tense, tired, knotted inside, anxious, worried, closed, afraid.

Consider what happens when you allow change to happen and go with it...energetic, expectant, free, open, happy, in control.

For the month of February, why not bring awareness to how you react to change? It could be as simple as your favourite television programme changing its schedule or a massive redundancy revelation.

Know that life is ever evolving and ever changing (just like us) and if we recognise this and go with it, we can find the path of least resistence. On this path we can look for solutions to the new change and in turn make decisions that will allow us to move forwards rather than hold us back.

My own experience of this was when I left a management role in a big health and fitness company because it wasn't what I expected. It was a mutual agreement between my employer and myself however it was initiated by my employer. One morning I was a well paid and committed employee and by the afternoon I was very much unemployed.

This was definitely a sudden change and I had the option to either wallow in what could have been or to address what had happened and choose where I was going. After a short mourning perod, I picked myself up, stopped resisting and focussed on the future.

As I melted into a life of free time and a lot more 'me time', I was approached by someone to work with performing artists at a performing arts school. They were looking for someone to physically work with the students and support their bodies during their academic years.

I think that because I had chosen to become open to the change I was now able to see my future opportunities clearly. I therefore accepted the post and have never looked back. I left after 4 years only to pursue my own professional development starting with dance training.

My message to you this month is that we can choose how we feel, we can choose to control how we think and we have a choice about how we behave. What are your choices?
