My partner and I have been working with Nicolette since the start of the year, taking part in her Pilates and Stretch/Relaxation classes twice a week at our local gym.

It's the first time either of us has stuck with an exercise class, and Nicolette's attitude is probably the main reason we have: she's an inspiration, and her love of her work and attention to detail are apparent to everyone. Her progressive approach (basically "Do what feels right for you today, and listen to your body";) is different to just about any teacher I've met in the past, and enables everyone to feel involved, whilst still challenging themselves from week to week. So many instructors seem to make it a competition, but Nicolette offers a variety of options for most exercises, which is terrific.

My flexibility has improved greatly and, far from being a chore, I look forward to my twice weekly date and to seeing where I can take myself to today.

Working with Nicolette has been great!She came as a referral. I was initially impressed at the amount of
attention she paid to detail in finding out my exercise/nutritional
patterns and why I was getting the results I wanted. Once we started to train together, I found the sessions challenging but fun. Nicolette gave me what I needed through motivation. Her expecting more of me helped me to raise my own expectations of myself and realize how fit I really could get!

When I started to see results, it pushed me to work harder! I loved
the variety of our sessions as I'm quite adventurous. Because Nicolette
is broadly skilled, we were able to work holistically with my body,
using high impact, yoga, pilates, boxing circuit and resistance work. It
was good to never know what to expect.. Kept me on my toes!
Nicolette found out exactly what I needed and delivered it and more. She made physical workouts fun and tapped into what fuels me to reach the goals we had set and I reached them ahead of schedule!

She totally superceded my expectations of a PT. If I could train with Nicolette everyday, I would!!

I wanted to write to say thank you for all the support with the Feel Good Fitness project that you gave. The project has sadly still not been reinstated by my department due to lack of funding. I had brilliant feedback about your classes though and I understand that some people have now even followed you to external classes.

Just wanted to say first and foremost thanks for being such an inspirational yoga and pilates teacher!
I have been doing Pilates for 7 months now, Yoga for 3 months and it has made so many differences to my life!
It has enabled my greater control over my body, in addition to increased core strength which has improved my strength when Pole Dancing (Pole Exercise. It has also improved my flexiblity which enables me to be far more graceful!

Best of all, it's a welcome break during my working day where I can cast stressful thoughts out of my mind for that period of time, refreshing me, and making the rest of the day that much calmer!

I hope you are well. I just want to tell you that I really enjoyed the session this week. Could you please send me by email the comments you made about the place above the navel and the yellow chakra you talked about. I always thought the tummy was the location of will power.


After the session, I kept on seeing yellow things: beautiful yellow roses (very smelly), a yellow lighter, a yellow arrow on the pavement...

Hey Nicolette,

When I first started your classes a few weeks ago, we talked about my very
limited mobility as a result of severe back trauma. Even though I had not been
physically active in years, you're faith in me (plus your "every level"'
teaching approach) really made me want to attend your classes. So glad I did and stuck with it
too, because I can move better today than I ever have before. I feel stronger
and more coordinated now, secure that my core is stable and my movements are
fluid. I can easily put my rucksack on these days and can now reach and bend my arms to straighten the straps when they get twisted. It's so nice to be able to do this for myself instead of asking for someone's help (which was a bit humiliating).These changes in mobility mean a lot to someone who spent months confined to a bed and wheelchair, as I did.I am noticing improvements every day now. Just this week, when I came out of class, I realized my back was looser right then than it had been in over two decades. As you know, I was
stressing a few months ago, about turning forty five. Now I actually feel pretty good
about it. I feel better than I have in years, I'm moving in ways I never could, and I am sticking with your classes(which makes me feel like I am taking an active role in my wellbeing).I really expect this new trend to continue as people like you help me to make the "mind/body" connection.

So...I wanted to express my thanks for all you've done to make this my reality...See ya soon!!!

Tonight's class at Jessie Duffett Hall was awesome! Amazing to think that there were 35 people in attendance but you have a way of teaching; which makes it seem as though there is no one else in the hall but me. You always have such a good connection with everyone before, during and after class. Thanks for the ad in your March Newsletter and thanks again for telling me about BNI. I am actually looking forward to waking up at the crack of dawn on Friday, not only to attend this newly formed Chapter meeting you've set-up but more importantly, to deliver the 60 second pitch about you. I really think you should have your own slot on TV Nicolette. Have you ever watched Body in Balance, Europe's leading Yoga + Wellness Channel on Sky 275? Have you ever thought about making your own instructional yoga/pilates DVD? I'll e-mail you to let you know how the Chapter meeting went. I hope you'll enjoy your well deserved holiday.

Nico is simply great: an inspiring and expert teacher.

During her yoga class on Wednesday evening, I tried a Bakasana (Crow) pose, balancing on my hands.

I haven't done anything like that since I was a child, many years ago and I didn't think I could do it, but I did and I'm still smiling with the sense of achievement it gave me.

Hey Nicolette and my Fellow Self-Lovers, I just got back from an amazing weekend doing Pilates and Yoga with Nicolette at Champney's Forest Mere in Hampshire. If you attend Arch 468 regularly,trust me, you'd love this beautiful, tranquil lakeside retreat. I feel incredibly blessed for being able to go away and pamper myself. Do try and grab the opportunity next time when Nicolette teaches Pilates at Champney's Forest Mere.

I love Nico's yoga clas. It is a challenging and hard work but after an hour and a half, you feel like a new person.
Nico's approach is gentle, positive and just lovely. A session with her is a great treat for body and mind.

I'm really happy that I've started pilates with Nicolette. I'm stronger person now mentally and physically. The main difference I can feel after 7 weeks of pilates is that I feel standing much more comfortable. I can stand for much longer, while before after 1 min I was looking for a place to sit somewhere. Also I'm more aware of the needs of my body and I remember to stretch or do a few bend downs every now and then while at work. I want to continue doing pilates forever :)

I would highly recommend Nico’s yoga and pilates classes, there’s no one like Nico with positive energy and ever ready smile. Nico genuinely cares about each individual’s progress and is there to teach, correct and encourage while emphasising that each practice belongs to an individual.

I particularly enjoy practising yoga at the Arches in Coldharbour Lane, the space is cozy and relaxing and the group energy works well together. The best lesson I learnt so far is not to judge myself but be kind to myself while learning to accept my limitations and work towards improving them.

If you want to do something lovely for your body and mind, do come to one of Nico’s classes.

I have been doing Nicolette’s classes for about a year now. I have experience of all sorts of classes, over many years, and I can say that Nico’s pilates and meditation sessions are fantastic. They have brought a whole new dimension to my fitness regime.
Nicolette has also given me great practical advice in relation to migraine headaches. Putting that advice into practice has helped significantly - thanks N!

Nicolette is very good at explaining not only how to do something but also why and what the benefit of that exercise will be. I would strongly recommend here classes to anyone.
I am taking a break from pilates because of pregnancy but i will be back as soon as I can after the baby is born!

I just had classes of Yoga and Pilates, 4 weeks in a row, with Nicolette. I must say her teaching is exceptional. She is precise, demonstrates very conscientiously each segment of movement and, most of all, she gives you the will to work for yourself and to go beyond your capacity. Her voice is smooth and very convincing. My body has changed in 4 weeks.
I am going back home, to Montreal, Canada. I miss her already.
Anyone who wants to follow a joyful and powerful classes of Yoga or Pilates, please run fast to Nicolette. She is the best !

Hi Nicolette, thank you for starting the Pilates & Yoga classes at Arch 468 on Coldharbour Lane. The first session was fun and the studio had a real nice ambiance. I enjoyed myself so much that those 3 hours just flew away! Honest to God, I used to hate working out and stuff like that. The only reason I took up Pilates was to make myself look good. Because you're such a fabulous teacher, I now enjoy working with my body. Look forward to attending more classes at Arch 468.:P

I just want to thank you for helping to have faith in myself, to be able to improve in my flexibility, strength and move forwards in my journey of yoga.
I really enjoy your classes and consider it to be one of my favourite and important times of the week as it makes me leave my general stresses and worries behind and offers a chance to refocus and have some valuable ME time!

In spite of gloomy weather I hope there's fair turnout at movement class tomorrow(Wed eve) to kickoff jan2010. Due to xmas break my body as usual craves some creative exercise to keep bones from creaking, tweaking(god knows what else) & your class should help sort this!

It's been quite a while since our last lesson and I really miss it: the energy, movement and people. Having said this I have to admit that my body and my mind remember to go straight, to use proper muscles to keep me going and keep tender peach under my chin. I look forward to coming back to our dance and yoga classes. I am pleased that Southwark Council has given us this opportunity and I hope we will be able to enjoy it during the hole Year 2010.

Hi Nicolette, just to let you know how fortunate and privileged I feel as a Southwark resident who get to attend your wonderful classes for FREE! Yes, FREE, like air, love and freedom. Your Dance Exercise and Yoga classes on Wednesday eveing at Jessie Duffet Hall is a real stress relief, much better than Prozac. The two hours spent with you and the fellow classmates are guaranteed to be full of fun and laughter. I am often amazed at how you help so many different people at various levels at the same time. I always feel much relaxed and calmer after doing the dance exercise and yoga with you. Fingers crossed, Southwark Council will continue the funding for your fabulous classes!

Hello Nicolette. I know I said I would write this Friday, but as it goes one thing lead to the next and then I wasn't home until after dinner. A nice dinner however, a little Greek restaurant in Ealing Broadway that served very tasty home-tasting food, and lots of it :P
Now it is Sunday and another weekend passed, worked all day yesterday but today was able to smell the Fall Air and have a walk among the falling leaves. Just took the fruit scones out of the oven and will now have that coffee break we spoke about and read more on your website, lots of love ;)

I met Nicolette in Morley College. She was teaching pilates and I was totally beginner who didn’t know anything about the harmony between my muscles and my breathing. It was Nicolette who took me on the trip guided by her happy, optimistic and credible voice. Every time I discovered something new about the body, about my strength and about my possibilities. Last year I missed enrollment time in the college and I lost contact with Nicolette. Remarkably, after about half a year later whole me showed an urgent willingness to meet Nicolette and join her class again. I desperately sent her an email warring that she wouldn’t have time for me anymore. But the warm answer came very quickly with all information about her classes pointed out.

Happily now, I am Nicolette’s “student” again and can learn about myself more and more. I have realised recently that I am much better prepared to do different sports and I am more aware of how to use my body properly.

Hi all you Camberwell People
I am a middle-aged diabetic with arthritis and did have a complete lack of motivation to do any kind of exercise and then along came Nicolette. Her dance exercise classes have eased my arthritic knees considerably, I can now walk upright instead of wobbling along - my ankles are no longer as swollen as they could be and I FEEL GREAT. Join us Jessie Duffett Hall, Wyndham Road every Wednesday.

After the summer break, going back to Morley College for the Pilates Class with Nicolette is a real treat. As corny as it sounds, meeting Nicolette is one of the best things in my life. I am one of the lucky students who get to learn Pilates, Yoga and Free-style Dance exercise with Nicolette. Through the training programme, I have corrected my posture and gained some muscles, and learned to de-stress using my breath. Nothing beats a class with Nicolette after work!

I've been attending Nicolette's stretch and relaxation classes as well as the pilates for more than a year now and throughly recommend them. I'm not a gym rat by nature but slowly and surely I'm finding my flexibilty is increasing and I can do most of the things that are asked of - coaxed out of, in my case - us. Hell, I almost did the splits today.. A big thumbs-up from me.
